Not much time as we're prepping to head out of town, but I had to take a moment and urge those who like unconventional fics and stories that depict unusual relationships to read the fic gifted me for the hp_beholder exchange.

It's a beautifully different and fascinating depiction of Cuthbert Binns and his decidedly unconventional friendship with a young Walburga Black. It was thoroughly engrossing and it made me smile, even as at one point it made me flinch, and is told in a smooth and soothingly pedantic manner the reason for which the reader is left to determine for him or herself. I do believe this is the first fic I've read that writes from this particular perspective and it is heartening even as it is heartbreaking. Do give it a try and please leave feedback if you do; authors of rare pairs get even less feedback than most other authors.
